2005 Democratic Party Nominating Convention
The Washington State Democratic Party has come out with the Rules for the Selection of Candidates and Nominees for Public Office. This will affect how we work within the parameters of the new state primary system.
The King County Democratic Nominating Convention was held on June 28th at Bellevue Community College. Candidates were chosen for each of the 9 districts of King County. The 46th LD has precincts within three of these districts, and our PCO's voted for the following candidates:
King County Executive: Ron Sims
King County Council, Position 1: Bob Ferguson
King County Council, Position 2: Larry Gossett
King County Council, Position 4: Larry Phillips
The King County Democrats put out a press release on May 5th with more information about the Nominating Process. Scott White also provided more information in the May, 2005 Demogram.

2005 Primary Election
The Judicial Decision on July 15th eliminated the Top-Two Primary election, and we are back to the Montana Primary that we used last year. Here in the 46th, that affects the King County Executive race and the King County Council District 1 race.
In our local city races, Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, City Attorney Tom Carr and
several members of the Seattle City Council, Port of Seattle and Seattle School
Board are up for election. We have put together a
page with more information. It's an evolving list while we are waiting for everyone to file, so please let the webcrafter know if we're missing anyone.
2005 46dems General Endorsement Meeting
The Final 2005 Endorsement Rules are available. Races for the General Election, including School Board and several initiatives will be considered for Endorsement by the 46th. Please check the September Demogram for details. Bake Sale & Fundraiser for Hurricane Katrina survivors!
