The 2006 Elections
You did it!!!
Thank you for all your hard work!
The 2006 Elections were very important to our country. We had the chance to take back the US House and the US Senate, and we kept a Democratic Majority in the Washington State House and Senate. We also reelected 3 State Supreme Court Justices, and numerous local level Judicial positions. And don't forget about our lone Seattle City Council race!

Events in this election cycle
Party Chair Race
After 11 years, Paul Berendt decided to step down in January of 2006. Two people emerged as potential candidates for the State Party Chair position. Dwight Pelz was the winner.
2006 Precinct Caucuses
The 2006 Precinct Caucuses were held on Saturday, March 4th at 2:00 pm. Our purpose in having the caucuses this year will be a review of the Platform, and election of delegates to carry our message from the grassroots up to the State Party. Please review the Cycle information above for the basics from the State Party.
The Precinct Caucuses were used to elect delegates to the LD & County Conventions.
2006 Legislative District Convention
The 46th Legislative District Convention was held on Saturday, April 8th at Nathan Hale. We elected delegates to the State Convention and worked on our 2006 Platform.
Agenda and Rules for the Caucus are now available.

The 2006 Primary Election
Primaries are good for us. They let us debate what we stand for, and they gather
our strengths and reveal our weaknesses so we can shore them up prior to the
General Election. And the Primary elections during even years are used to elect
our Precinct Committee Officers.
