46th District Democrats Endorse Candidates and Ballot Measures
The 46th District Democrats held their annual endorsement meeting last night for races and ballot measures appearing on the primary and general election ballots this fall. Endorsements require an affirmative vote of two-thirds (66.67%) of the membership. The following candidates were endorsed by the body:

In addition, the 46th District Democrats voted to support all of the Seattle City Charter Amendments that will be on the ballot. At its membership meeting in May of this year, the District previously voted to oppose I-917 “$30 car tabs”, to oppose I-920 “Estate Tax Repeal”, to oppose I-933 “Takings / Repeal of the Growth Management Act”, and to support I-937 “Renewable Energy”.
In other action, the 46th District Democrats unanimously supported a resolution opposing the proposal to create the elected auditor position to run King County Elections and opposing placing the measure on the ballot. The District also passed a resolution supporting the existing Code of Ethics and rejecting the proposal to relax the Code for members of city advisory committees.
The 46th District Democrats is the local grassroots Democratic organization of the 46th legislative district in north Seattle. With a membership of over 500 households, the “Fightin’ 46th” doorbells and distributes campaign literature throughout north Seattle to help elect endorsed candidates.
