Tips for writing a successful letter to the editor

1. Keep your letter under 250 words. Short, succinct sentences, 3 or 4 paragraphs.
2. Keep your letter limited to one subject.
3. Know your facts, write in your own words and factcheck yourself.
4. Wit and sarcasm are good, NO PERSONAL ATTACKS.
5. Many publications require you to include your home address, home phone, and work phone within the letter.
